Event Planning Project Edinburgh

The Edinburgh World Car Free Day was an Event proposed and managed by Crexcell. Crexcell performed the event Planning and provided the services.

Crexcell approached Edinburgh City council with a proposal to stage an event in the City to mark a global program “World car free day”.

Imagine living in a city with no cars, clean fresh air, excellent public transport, this was the goal of world car free day, a small glimpse of a possible future.

The event was originally scheduled for 22/09/2022, but was reschedules for the 02/10/2022 as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth 2.

Project timescales were short and required the full Crexcell professional service set to be applied to licence, organise and operate the event.

The project remit included:

Liaison with Edinburgh City Council to ensure event requirements were met.
Create and activate all the event content.
Promote the event to ensure maximum exposure.
Organise all the physical assets required to deliver the event.
Manage the event planning process to meet regulatory and health & safety requirements.
Provide post event feedback to Edinburgh City Council.
